Assembly Apartments, North Melbourne, Vic
Located on the edge of Melbourne city, Assembly Apartments offer the convenience of city living whilst being connected to a vibrant community. Set over four apartment buildings, the development consists of 115 apartments with a network of laneways connecting each building’s lobby.
Project Design Brief
Designers wanted to capture the history of North Melbourne’s light industrial warehouses with a trendy, modern aesthetic. For the apartments’ bathrooms, designers selected large format tiles and level shower entries to continue the bathrooms clean lines and to ensure effective waterproofing by removing traditional steps and hobs from the bathrooms.

Benefits
- The electropolished channel and grate complements the dark coloured tiles selected
- As opposed to floor wastes, the linear channel efficiently captures water with minimal tile cuts to achieve the required falls
- The 25mm depth of the shower channel ensured the channel could be incorporated into the screed layer, above the waterproof membrane
