Western Australian Institute of Sport, Mount Claremont, WA
Established in 1983 by the Western Australian Government, the Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) was designed to ensure local athletes could obtain access to elite coaching and training facilities without needing to move interstate. The WAIS supports sports programs in athletics, baseball, canoeing, cycling, gymnastics, hockey, netball, rowing, sailing, swimming, and water polo.
Project Design Brief
Several wet areas were totally refurbished, during a recent upgrade. Designers simplified the shower floor design to enhance accessibility, maintain the tile pattern and to better separate wet areas from dry areas.
